Bethesda Launches A Campaign To Highlight The Importance of Single Player Games

Save single player games, everyone!

Posted By | On 08th, Dec. 2017

Increasingly, we have heard that single player games are about to recede into being a niche, and gams as a service style multiplayer games will soon take over the industry. Major publishers seem to have bought into that narrative, most notably EA, Ubisoft, and Microsoft.

One of the only western AAA publishers to still be putting out high quality single player games- even as those games continue to falter in the market, sadly- is Bethesda. Over the last few years, Bethesda have doubled down on quality single player games with a vengeance, with DOOM, Wolfenstein, The Evil Within, Prey, Dishonored, and of course, Fallout and The Elder Scrolls all providing high quality single player experiences to players, no strings attached.

But those games haven’t necessarily done all that well on the market- and there actually is very real danger of single player games from western AAA publishers begin to die out. So, Bethesda has launched a fantastic new campaign- #SavePlayer1, which is about highlighting their single player games. To further incentivize you buying their games, Bethesda are also donating $100,000 to the ESA Foundation to help get scholarships for the future game developers.
