While most people have been expecting to wait until E3 for an official announcement of Fallout 4, it appears Bethesda has moved up the time table. The company has spent the last few months hinting that a new game in the much beloved series is on the way, it appears those hints are almost at an end. The biggest hint of all was a tweet this morning that simple said “Please Stand By” with a link.
That link led to the official Fallout website for Bethesda. Featured prominently on this website is the message which again says Please Stand By and a clock that is ticking down 24 hours. This seems to be a rather obvious hint that more information about Fallout 4 is coming tomorrow. Bethesda previously allowed a kind of unofficial announcement of the game thanks to rumors circulating that Guillermo Del Toro was working on the trailer.
That particular unofficial announcement didn’t sit well with some in the video game community, including our own Martin Toney. It’s possible one of the reasons fans of the series are getting a bit annoyed with Bethesda playing coy is because the company has kept gamers waiting for years and years. Each year, right around E3 rumors start to swirl that we might finally be seeing another game in the long running series. Every year, we’re disappointed and left wondering why the rumors were allowed to go on. It appears we aren’t going to disappointed this time around. Bethesda wouldn’t toy with fans emotions this much, so on Wednesday morning we can expect the official unveiling of Fallout 4.
