It’s hilarious, the amount of support and worship that Ubisoft’s Beyond Good & Evil has received since its release more than 8 years ago. The brain-child of Rayman creator Michel Ancel was praised for its excellent story-telling and gameplay, and is considered a cult classic among gamers.

At Sony’s PlayStation 4 reveal event, Kotaku spoke to Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot about the sequel Beyond Good & Evil 2, to which he responded, “I don’t give comments anymore on Beyond Good & Evil 2. Because I think…the next time we communicate we have to have something new.” He later added that indeed, “It’s coming.”

Although the sequel has been in and out of the public eye, with screenshots and gameplay being revealed at Ubidays 2008, there hasn’t been much information go by aside from the fact that it’s being targeted for the next generation of consoles. As always, we’ll wait till the big conventions for any new details.
