Developed by Experiment 101, a new studio made of former Just Cause and Mad Max developers – BioMutant was unveiled by THQ Nordic as a Kung-Fu action RPG in a post-apocalyptic setting which features anthropomorphic animals with swords and guns. Check out the first gameplay trailer (the latter courtesy of worthplayingvideos) below.

There’s a lot going on in the gameplay trailer including a mutation system for the character, a wide variety of environments that can be traversed by air, land and sea, melee combat (which strangely enough reminds me of Zelda) and item crafting. It looks intriguing to say the least.

BioMutant is slated to release in 2018 and is currently in development for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Along with being present at THQ Nordic’s Gamescom booth, it will be at PAX West in September.
