BioWare looking to make Jade Empire sequel

Posted By | On 24th, Sep. 2011

BioWare is interested in making a sequel for their 2006 action adventure title, Jade Empire. They’re “just looking for the right way to deploy it.”

BioWare founders Ray Mazyuka and Greg Zeschuk said at the EG Expo that they’re looking to bring back the series. “We’ve been talking a lot about that actually on and off over the years,” Mazyuka said.

“It’s an IP, it’s a setting that we’re really passionate about, and we still are. Both Greg and I were big believers in the IP.

“We’re just looking for the right way to deploy it.

We have a lot of different projects now on a lot of different platforms, and you might see some of that [Jade Empire] in the future. You never know.

“We don’t have anything to announce on it right now, but it is a franchise that’s near and dear to us.”

With Mass Effect 3, The Old Republic and a new Dragon Age game in development at BioWare right now, it’s hard to believe we’ll be seeing a Jade Empire 2 very soon, but we have our fingers crossed.
