Blindfire Available Now for Xbox Series X/S and PC in Early Access

Double Eleven's arena shooter sees players battling through completely dark environments in round-based Free-For-Fall and TDM modes.

Double Eleven revealed its newest title during the Xbox Partner Preview showcase, and it’s an arena first-person shooter played entirely in the dark. Blindfire is available for Game Preview and early access via Steam and the Epic Games Store on Xbox Series X/S and PC starting today. It’s coming to PS5 later this year. Check out the first in-engine trailer below.

The concept is straightforward: Every participant in a match has a weapon but can’t see since the arena is shrouded in darkness. As a result, they need to listen to their opponents and watch for light sources like muzzle flashes when weapons are fired. Of course, you risk giving away your whereabouts if you fire back.

Friendly fire is also a thing and you must account for environmental lights, traps, and a searchlight (which dead players can control). You also have Echo to outline your surroundings and Last Known Position to see an opponent’s previous movements when scanning.

The core mode is Bodycount, available in Free-for-All and Team Deathmatch variants. It consists of five rounds, with each player having a single life, but rather than wins, you’re encouraged to rack up points by earning headshots, killstreaks, and even escaping unscathed. There are two weapons available in early access – the Mantis pistol and Abolition shotgun – but more are forthcoming. Stay tuned for updates on its development in the coming months.
