BlizzCon 2017

Today, Blizzard announced the dates for their annual fan convention, BlizzCon. The convention has been a yearly event that has served as both a convention for fans to partake in various activities, as well as panels with workers involved with Blizzard properties, such as Diablo, World of Warcraft, and Overwatch. The convention will again be at Anaheim, California, at the Anaheim Convention Center in early November.

The show is often the place for big announcements for the company, but last year’s show was infamous for the unexpected announcement of Diablo Immortal, a mobile spinoff of the largely popular loot-based action RPG series. The crowd were vocal in their displeasure at a mobile title being given the spotlight at an event largely seen for being for the company’s hardcore enthusiasts, with many notable, antagonistic questions from those fans during the panel’s Q&A.

Who knows if we’ll see a repeat of that, or if Blizzard is going to throw more of a bone to their hardcore faithful. We’ll just have to wait and see. BlizzCon 2019 will run from November 1st to 2nd, with tickets going on sale May 4th. You can check about the details at the convention’s website.
