Despite widespread acclaim, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth failed to meet Square Enix’s commercial expectations upon its PS5 release a year ago. Thankfully for the game, however, its PC launch seems to have gone much better, bringing a much-needed sales boost.
That’s as per Circana analyst Mat Piscatella, who revealed recently on BlueSky that courtesy of its PC launch in January, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth saw significantly increased sales over the month in the United States.
In fact, the open-world action RPG ranked third in the regional monthly sales charts, behind only Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Madden NFL 25, climbing up from #56 in December. Meanwhile, the Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Rebirth double pack climbed up to 16th place, a sharp increase from #265 in December.
Upon releasing for PC in late January, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth saw a peak of over 40,000 concurrent Steam players. Later, Piscatella reported that it had topped US sales charts for that week.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is available on PC and PS5. As per rumors, it is also in development for Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2.
