PlayStation recently shut down SIE Japan Studio and restructured as Team Asobi, and that, as you might imagine, came with a mass exodus of talent leaving the company for greener (or at least different) pastures. One of them was Masaaki Yamagiwa, who was producer on games such as Bloodborne, Deracine, and Tokyo Jungle, and left Sony earlier this year.

Now, it seems he’s joined up with a different team. As confirmed by Koei Tecmo’s Ninja Gaiden and Nioh developer Team Ninja, Yamagiwa has joined the developer’s staff. There’s no word on what projects Yamagiwa is going to be working on, or if he’s involved with the game currently in development at Team Ninja- Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Originwhich launches next March.

Yamagiwa’s track record speaks for itself, of course, so he should be a great asset for Team Ninja. Here’s hoping we get to see the fruits of their labour sooner rather than later.
