Borderlands 2 Level Cap Increase Expected This Month?

Gearbox CEO says "We'll see".

What would a game like Borderlands 2 be without the ability to find new loot, explore new areas, replay segments and just go out of one’s way to be a complete and total bad-ass (and we don’t mean figuratively, as you can earn Bad-Ass ranks to up your character’s skills)?

It’d be a game where you remained the same level, that’s what. And with the current level cap locking out most of one major tree depending on which specialization you choose, Gearbox Software had previously announced that the game would be seeing a level cap increase in the first quarter of 2013.

However, this being March and still no level cap increase officially dated, what gives? When asked if we would see it in the form of DLC this month, CEO Randy Pitchford simply tweeted the following:

This could either mean a short delay or a bigger surprise. Who knows? Regardless, we’ll keep you updated.
