Borderlands 3 Sees Strong Debut On Steam

The delay in release didn't seem to slow down the player count.

Borderlands 3

Borderlands 3 was really the first major release that was snatched up by Epic Games as a timed exclusive for their Epic Games Store storefront. Like many of the exclusives, it caused a lot of controversy and headaches for certain fans who weren’t too keen on the EGS for whatever reasons. Well, that timed exclusivity is now over, and it seems the Steam version is off to a good start.

As shown on the Steam charts, the game has already achieved 93,597 in peak concurrent players. Just for reference, the all time high for the franchise was Borderlands 2 with 123,596. That shows that the exclusive stuff didn’t really seem to slow down things, though the huge launch discount (that you can still get) on the storefront probably helped a good bit as well.

Borderlands 3‘s PC version is available now on both Epic Games Store and Steam, and the game is also on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.  The next DLC expansion, Guns, Love, and Tentacles, will launch across all platforms on March 26th.
