Gearbox Software teased something for Borderlands 3, which we thought would finally be the gameplay reveal for FL4K. It turned out to be a new trailer – which is not “actual gameplay” – as the Vault Hunters merrily dance to “Happy Together” by The Turtles. Of course, there’s also murder. Lots of murder.
Borderlands 3 takes place several years after the second game as a new threat, the Calypso Twins, emerges. Players will control four new Vault Hunters, each with their own unique abilities and skill trees, to take them down. Along the way, there are new guns to earn, like guns with legs that walk around and shoot enemies while hurling insults. There’s even a handy pinging system for pointing out enemies and loot.
Borderlands 3 releases on September 13th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. It will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store on PC until April 2020. Recently, Gearbox clarified that cross-play among the three platforms would not be available at launch, but that they were committed to delivering the same “as soon as practical.”
