2K Australia’s Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel finally has a release date. The sequel to the first game – but prequel to the second game – will be out on October 14th in North America and October 17th in Europe for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Gearbox Software and 2K Games released a new trailer for the game which is fairly more chaotic than past Borderlands videos. Check it out above and marvel at the work of Dance Central developer Harmonix.

Though made on the same engine as Borderlands 2, The Pre-Sequel will take place on a neighbouring moon of Pandora and focus on Handsome Jack prior to his rise through the ranks of Hyperion. You’ll be hopping across a low-gravity environment, taking advantage of new weapon types, discovering new loot and using four new character classes this time around.

All in all, a rollicking good time. Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is available for pre-order; stay tuned for bonuses and other details in the coming months.
