Bungie’s Destiny will have its first official beta testing session starting on July 17th for PlayStation users (July 23rd for Xbox) and features quite the upgrade in content. Players shouldn’t take that to mean it’s all fun and games though – Bungie expects you to be doing some actual testing work.

Posting on its official blog, the developer stated that, “The Destiny Beta is a test. Make no mistake. This isn’t some circus stunt. This is science – and you’re the lab rat.

“We’d love to tell you that everything will go according to plan, but that wouldn’t be any fun. That wouldn’t teach us a thing. Even if the Beta is working perfectly, one of the alpha-geeks in the operations center is gonna kick it to see if it still works. Fortunately, we’ll be going to great lengths to keep you informed and keep you in the game.”

So make sure to post any issues on Bungie’s official Twitter account or comment on the help page. Destiny will be out on September 9th for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PS4.
