More weapon balancing updates are on the way for Bungie’s Destiny, this time pertaining to shotguns. You may recall shotguns having received various nerfs to range perks as part of update 2.0.0. However, Bungie has noticed that this hasn’t been enough to curb the weapon’s lethal nature from long distances. The answer? Update 2.0.1 which will remove Shot Package from all shotguns according to the latest Weekly Update.

Shot Package has been a much sought after perk in Destiny’s shotguns because it reduces the spread of projectiles when aiming down sights. Couple this with other range perks and you have a highly effective weapon which can cause immense damage from a range, regardless of where you shoot your opponent. It’s different from an Exotic shotgun like The Chaperone which is a single slug weapon that requires precision kills to down opponents from a range.

Players with Shot Package in their shotguns will have them replaced with other perks like Close and/or Personal, Crowd Control or Knee Pads. Bungie may reintroduce Shot Package after some balancing but don’t hold your breath.
