Bungie’s Destiny details revealed, Official Screenshot is Jaw Dropping

Bungie stopped making Halo games and signed a 10 year contract with Activision, and no one knows what they are working on except vague details like the name and genre. Making an MMO is not an easy task, however, as it requires a lot of funding, which Activision are capable off and also a lot of time, which Bungie can command because they are a top tier developer.

Recently a new image of Destiny–the name of the MMO–was leaked, which not only blew people away but also made them realise that what Bungie are working on is something that is truly spectacular. All the details were leaked by IGN and you can also check out a lot of images there.

Here’s what the description reads: “Our story begins seven hundred years from now in the Last City on Earth, in a Solar System littered with the ruins of man’s Golden Age. A massive, mysterious alien ship hangs overhead like a second Moon. No one knows where it came from or what it’s here for, but only that it’s our protector.

“Meanwhile, strange, alien monsters creep in from the edge of the universe, determined to take Earth and the Last City. We are young ‘knights’ tasked with defending the remains of humanity, discovering the source of these monsters and – eventually – overcoming it.” Elsewhere in the document, the massive alien ship is referred to as ‘the Traveler.'”

The game will be fun and accessible to all, and that is something a lot of MMOs should follow, because only then they will be able to get a gigantic subscriber base. Destiny will be accessible and people will have no troubles figuring it out, the leaked document read.

Bungie co-founder Jason Jones says “Destiny is designed for your inner seven year old. We want to make it feel like a mythic adventure.”

Sounds good, doesn’t it?

The gameplay will also be social at its core, which means that’s how an MMO is supposed to work. The leaked image shows a PS3 and Xbox 360 logo, which are the platforms they are making this gigantic game on. They posted a new image after acknowledging the leaks, and said: “We’re not quite ready to take the wraps off our next universe, but in light of recent events we thought we’d give fans something a little more official over at Bungie.net. Feel free to drop by and say hello! There’s much more to come.”

The court documents that were leaked recently reveal that the game would be released on the Xbox 360 and its successor named Xbox 720. It seems like it’s a timed exclusive to Microsoft platforms, but a PS3, PS4 and PC release is in the pipeline as well.

Of course it should be, because they are now multiplatform developers after all.

This is a massive project from Bungie, they aim “to create a universe as deep, tangible and relatable as that of the Star Wars franchise.” Based on the screenshot released by them, it certainly seems like something that can blow a lot of people away.
