Bungie’s Destiny Gets New Viral Marketing Site, ARG

Ambiguousness for the win!

Sony and Microsoft aren’t the only ones counting down – Bungie has launched a new ARG for their upcoming Destiny, which also acts as a sort of viral marketing site.

Because that’s one way to differentiate it from Halo, right?

All kidding aside, the site has a row of 7 numbers up top that, once selected, open a puzzle where you must realign squares. Doing so successfully unlocks two screens, one of which contains a link to the “Instructions” page.

And it only gets more cryptic from there. However, various hints to the overall large scale multiplayer seem to be embedded in the text. Oddly, the term “5 minutes” pops up continuously, whether in reference to a node or window. As of now, we have no clue what this is in reference to.

Interestingly, only two numbers have been made selectable since the site went up – “7” and “6”. Consider that each day opens up a new number and we’re arguably looking at some kind of reveal next Monday. Stay tuned for more details.
