Call of Duty Black Ops 2 was released a few hours ago and several publications have already released their reviews. Surprisingly, you will not see a lot 9s but a ton of 8s. Also, the Xbox 360 version of Call of Duty Black Ops 2 is currently sitting at a solid aggregate score of 86 at Metacritic.

GameReactor‘s Norwegian outlet gave it a 7/10 stating that it’s like FIFA. ‘So I’m ready for a new start in the Call of Duty series. It is of course not going to happen, because Call of Duty has been action genre FIFA. It’s like a sports game you buy once a year, and then play it in twelve months.” Ouch! Gamespot gave it an 8/10, criticizing it’s zombie mode as stagnant while praising it’s campaign scripting.

CVG gave it a 7.8/10 praising it’s story stating ‘nobody tells the story of that one war with quite as much flair and panache as Call of Duty.’ Gametrailers gave Black Ops 2 their Editor Choice award awarding a score of 9.4/10, stating ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops II is the most evolved sequel we’ve played in recent memory as it challenges the status quo at almost every turn.’

You can check scores from other publications below:

VideoGamer: 8/10
