Call of Duty Black Ops 2’s online system now based on latency and ping

Good news?

If you remember earlier Black Ops 2 was region based. If you were based in India, you would most likely be paired with Indian players even though you had a good connection and an ISP with great routing services.

However, with Black Ops 2, and after a lot of criticism from gamers, Treyarch seems to have changed this. It will be now based on your latency and ping, which means, if you have a decent connection you can play with anyone.

This is something that was a cause for concern because Treyarch and Infinity Ward have been blamed for supporting gamers from popular regions and ignoring people from the less developed ones, so this change is quite big.

The game’s director David Vonderhaar revealed this on Twitter. (Image via Charlie Intel). The game comes out on November 13 for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. Let us know what you think in the comments section below whether you are pleased with this decision or not.
