The single most popular map in the history of the Call of Duty series is Nuketown, which debuted in the original Call of Duty: Black Ops back in 2010. The map, with its confined quarters, and numerous opportunities for bottlenecks, vantage sniping points, cover, and stealth kills, instantly became a fan favorite- so much so that Activision brought it back in 2012 with the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops II as Nuketown 2025, just for a pre-order bonus.
Now, they are repeating the feat. Nuketown will be returning to the series as Nuk3town for all those who pre-order Black Ops 3 on the PS4, Xbox One, or PC.
“The Nuketown maps have a special place in Call of Duty multiplayer history and we can’t wait to build upon that heritage in Black Ops III”, said Mark Lamia, Studio Head of Treyarch. “We carefully adapted the design of the map to make sure that it fit with our new movement system, but to also make sure that we retained the spirit and the fun that made fans fall in love with it in the first place.”
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 launches on Xbox One, PS4, and PC in November.
