Call of Duty Black Ops 3

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is making quite a few changes to the long running series it is a part of. The biggest change of all to the most devoted video game players is that the title is no longer tied directly to the Microsoft Xbox One. This year, Treyarch and Activision signed an agreement in order to work closely with Sony and it’s PS4. That’s why the PS4 emblem is now featured on trailers and ads for Black Ops 3 where we used to see the Microsoft logo.

Sony’s Adam Boyes recently released a statement to mark the occasion while saying what it means for the PlayStation brand in the future. “This is a historic partnership that makes PlayStation the best place to play Call of Duty,” he said. “The massive reception to the game’s multiplayer beta only a few months ago demonstrated the huge appetite our fans have for this franchise and the anticipation for Black Ops III. This is the game our fans want, and we’re proud to welcome Call of Duty to its new home on PlayStation 4.”

This is hardly the first shooter in the last few years that Sony has been able to sign to a partnership. Activision also produced Destiny and it appears that the partnership between Activision and Sony is how this new partnership with Black Ops 3 came about. Now we’ll just have to wait and see what happens with this partnership. Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 officially launched on November 6, 2015.
