For those who pre-ordered Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 on PS4, the game’s beta is now live (Xbox One and PC players will be getting access in a few days’ time), and obviously, tons of people have been playing the beta obsessively. Treyarch have been looking at player activity, as well as taking feedback into consideration, and recently put up an update on Reddit detailing all the stuff that they’re going to be looking into for better balancing and general improvements.

Fine-tuning of weapons and specialists balancing are just two of those things that they’re looking into. More specifically, the update notes that the SMG is a bit too overpowered right now, while equipment and some weapons for Specialists are also in need of fine-tuning.

Treyarch have also noted a bug that sometimes causes the frame rate to dip severely, as well as issues with some players having to sit through long loading times for some maps compared to other players in the same match, causing them to have to sit in the lobby longer than others and, as a result, miss out on the pre-match specialist selection stage.

Other than these things, Treyarch are also looking into other specific aspects, such as bunny hopping, sliding, spawn points, armour, and the new free cursor UI. They’ve assured fans that this is all stuff, among other things, that they’re going to be constantly looking into.

If you’re planning on playing even more of the beta while it’s still live, there’s some incentive in it for you. If you achieve the max rank in the beta, you get a prize in the full game. In September, the beta you currently have will automatically transition into a beta for the battle royale mode, Blackout.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 launches on October 12 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
