Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s Steam Peak Concurrent User Count Surpasses Modern Warfare 2 and 3 at Launch

The first-person shooter saw a peak of over 306,000 concurrent players on Steam over its first weekend, surpassing Modern Warfare 2 and 3's launch numbers.

As one of the biggest gaming franchises in existence, Call of Duty never fails to attract a sizeable audience, and even though Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has attracted some criticism from players on Steam since its release last week, the first-person shooter also seems to be attracting a sizeable audience, even when compared to its predecessors.

As per SteamDB, over the weekend following its release, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 saw a peak of of over 306,000 concurrent players on Steam. That’s higher than what both of its immediate predecessors managed upon their respective releases, with 2022’s Modern Warfare 2 seeing a peak of over 263,000 concurrent players, and last year’s Modern Warfare 3 enjoying a peak of over 190,000 players.

Given the fact that for the first time ever, Black Ops 6 is also available via PC Game Pass, that’s a particularly impressive number, and does suggest that the game could be enjoying similarly strong numbers on other platforms as well.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is available on PC, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, Xbox One, and PS4.
