Despite middling critical scores, Call of Duty: Ghosts is a rousing success with more than $1 billion in revenue from day one sales. It’s just a shame that the game continues to be hammered on, and not for entirely unjustified reasons. Take this particular clip from the ending sequence of Ghosts, which sort of reminds us of a particular sequence from Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. And by “sort of”, we mean it’s an exact replica of the same. Check it out above.
While we’ve seen film-makers reuse the same sequences in movies – just do a quick search on Michael Bay’s shenanigans – but for a video game? Even if single-player has been heavily de-emphasized in this era of multiplayer gaming, it feels like a cop-out. One that no matter which resolution you’re playing in is noticeable and outright deplorable.
But who knows, maybe the PS4/Xbox One release of Ghosts will fix that? Here’s hoping. Keep in mind that the hidden ending you can unlock from beating Ghosts on Veteran adds more to the above.
