Call of Duty Infinite Warfare Reveal Trailer Crosses 1.2 Million Dislikes

The hate continues to roll in for Infinity Ward's futuristic shooter.

Call of Duty Infinite Warfare

In the wake of DICE revealing its in-engine trailer for Battlefield 1, Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare reveal trailer has raked up a staggering 1,279,465 dislikes on YouTube. This is compared to 266,471 dislikes.

Though Battlefield 1 wasn’t responsible for the trailer’s further increase in dislikes, its trailer does stand as a stark contrast with just 19,413 dislikes since its introduction.

Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg tried to spin the dislikes in a call with investors last week, noting that the same phenomenon occurred with Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, which went on to great success.

That being said, this level of abject hatred for a reveal trailer is still astonishing. How will Activision react? Maybe selling Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered separately, (which currently only available to those who buy Infinite Warfare? Will all this hate actually affect sales? Time will tell.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is scheduled to release on November 4th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
