Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4’s Next Beta Weekend Includes Zodiac, Combat Outpost, Hijack, and More

Available to players on all platforms this weekend, the beta also includes a new 6v6 map and improvements to spawn logic.

The second beta for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 kicks off this weekend, and this time, it’s open to players across all platforms (including Nintendo Switch 2). On day 2 of Xbox @ Gamescom’s broadcast, Infinity Ward talked about what new content can be expected.

Warzone fans can look forward to a new Resurgence map, Zodiac, developed in partnership with Beenox. It will offer a lot of “cool” points of interest, but that’s not all. Two multiplayer modes will also be available, including Hijack, where teams must plant the data spike on a comms tower. It can be used as a lethal weapon as well, bonking enemies to death.

There’s also Ground War: Combat Outpost, retaining the larger battles and vehicles from the original but with the twist of holding outposts to strengthen them. The longer they’re held, the more resources unlock, helping your side and making them more difficult to capture.

If that wasn’t enough, a new Core 6v6 map, Lithium, will also be available to try out. And for those rightfully complaining about spawns, Infinity Ward continues to work on the same (even committing to further polish post-launch).

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 launches on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2 on October 23rd.
