Even without the ongoing multiplayer beta, we’ve had a whole lot of information on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s multiplayer component. What many have been more curious to see more of is the game’s campaign, which is promising to take the series in an interesting new direction. Infinity Ward has promised earlier that they’d be premiering the campaign at the end of September, and during the recent State of Play broadcast by Sony, that’s exactly what they did.
The trailer, which you can see below, looks very promising. Infinity Ward have talked up their new engine a great deal over the last few months, and the visuals on display in this trailer definitely seem to be doing justice to all that. We also get a much better feel of the game’s narrative premise, tone, and storytelling style. Finally, the trailer also confirms that Spec Ops’ Survival Mode will be a timed exclusive for the PS4 (though PC and Xbox One players can rest assured that they’ll be enjoying simultaneous launches for most of the other post-launch content). Take a look at the whole thing below.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on October 25.
