Call of Duty Warzone

After numerous rumors, gameplay for battle royale title Call of Duty: Warzone was released ahead of schedule. It’s subsequently been pulled but various mirror videos can still be found, like the one below. Reddit user ywhine compiled a list of important information about the new mode as well, so it’s worth referring to if other mirrors get pulled.

First off, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare won’t be required to access Warzone. It’s completely free to play with cross-play and cross-progression with 150 players on one map (which could increase). Matchmaking queues include Solos, Duos and Trios with the map containing familiar areas like Broadcast, Terminal and so on. The two core modes are Warzone and Plunder, the latter supporting respawns.

Weapons are the only items that can be looted – attachments must be found in supply drops. Players will spawn with pistols though and can down foes in 4 to 5 shots (though this seems to be without armor). You’ll also find vehicles like SUVs, Helicopters, TAC ROVERs and ATVs to pilot. And yes, it’s possible to ping locations and enemies.

There are a lot of other things to expect like bounties, the Gulag which involves taking prisoners and having them fight in 1v1s, killstreaks and much more. No details were given on a release date but it wouldn’t surprise us to see Activision launch the title today. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
