Sledgehammer Games has announced that Call of Duty: WW2’s first proper event will be coming on December 8th with Winter Siege. Finer details are still lacking but it seems the bonus map Carentan, which is available for Season Pass owners exclusively, will be covered in snow and available to everyone for free. A new game mode will also be added once the event goes live.

A new update will also release next week which addresses bugs, a number of exploits for reaching outside the map, Party issues and brings improvements to the user interface. To celebrate Thanksgiving, there’s a double XP event that began yesterday and will run till November 27th. As for Winter Siege, it’s expected to run till early January.

Call of Duty: WW2 has faced a number of server and connection issues since launch but seems to have stabilized. Various outlets have confirmed finally witnessing a full Headquarters social space with 48 players thanks to server improvements.
