It seems there's no delay on the cards due to COVID.

It’s a new year, which means that you are one year closer to death, and that we should get a new Call of Duty entry. Of course, this year has not been a typical one, due to the COVID-19 pandemic that has caused a lot of unexpected cancellations and delays all through the industry. There’s also the fact that we now have Call of Duty: Warzone, which is set to be an ongoing service that will “connect” the various subseries in the franchise. But it seems that nothing stops the COD train, as the 2020 entry is still planned to come.

In an earnings call, President and COO Daniel Alegre dispelled any doubts saying that the 2020 entry “already looks great” and is still on track to come out later this year. That’s all Alegre says, but presumably the game will come out during the holiday season and will be the first title in the series to launch on the PS5 and Xbox Series X.

There are rumors that the next game will be loosely tied to the Black Ops universe and possibly be set in the Vietnam War or another time period tied to the Cold War. Marketing for this next title should be starting relatively soon since there won’t be a delay due to COVID-19, so we should be hearing something soon.
