Capcom’s latest annual report gave us some interesting insights into its plans, with Kenzo Tsujimoto, its CEO, advocating for the PC as a viable avenue for sustained growth thanks to its popularity as a platform among gamers.

With a significant chunk of its games selling for the PC in the last quarter, not counting all the other successes beforehand, it makes sense that the studio believes in the platform’s viability, and that it could potentially overtake consoles in the future, a facet made more believable with Project Helix’s ability to run PC games.

“I believe that the PC will further establish itself as the world’s leading gaming platform, which will serve to increase the value of the PC market.”

That’s good news for those of you who swear by the PC’s ability to run modern games at a level that consoles have yet to match, despite the current generation of systems coming pretty darn close. Of course, the statement also shows Capcom’s commitment despite fumbles like Monster Hunter Wilds on the platform.

The studio is also looking to expand the presence of its major franchises across other media following the success of Devil May Cry’s Netflix debut, and an upcoming Resident Evil film already in the works. All in all, things are looking quite good over at Capcom, and we’re hoping that the studio behind some of our personal favorites continues to grow from strength to strength, delivering some great experiences in the process.
