Devil May Cry. Viewtiful Joe. Okami. Onimusha. Mega Man. Dino Crisis. Rival Schools. Dragon’s Dogma. Lost Planet. Capcom have a veritable treasure trove of IP – they probably have more iconic franchises than any company in the industry except for Nintendo and maybe EA – but you wouldn’t know that from their recent output, which has largely centred on their fighters, Resident Evil, Ace Attorney, and Monster Hunter.

However, Capcom may be looking into changing that soon- in their recent statement where they shared the latest shipment numbers for the Marvel vs Capcom series, they also revealed that they are looking to shore up the brand value of the Capcom brand by reviving some of their older, dormant franchises.

Given that a lot of Capcom’s older IP is still listed under their active franchises and brands section in their financial reports, this is easy to believe- we can only hope that Capcom start leveraging their excellen tback catalog again soon.
