After a rocky few years, it seems that Capcom is back in a big way with several major critical and financial successes from the likes of Resident Evil 2, Devil May Cry 5 and Monster Hunter World. The company has returned to the top of the Japanese hierarchy of game developers, and they also just filed a slew of new trademarks.

You can see links to the trademarks from a bot that keeps track of recently filed trademarks in Japan. Here you can see that Capcom has registered new trademarks for multiple franchises including the likes of Dino Crisis, Darkstalkers and Mega Man have new trademarks. Even far less known series like Power Stone and Cyberbots. See the full list through here.

Before you get too excited, much like the recent NieR trademark from Square Enix, it doesn’t necessarily mean there are plans for any of these franchises. Filing and renewing trademarks is a common way for a company to protect its past projects. But we can dream, after all.
