Castle of Illusion Remake Arriving for PSN, XBLA and PC in Summer

Mickey Mouse returns. Again.

In collaboration with Disney Interactive, Sega Europe and Sega of America have announced a remake for Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse to release on Xbox Live Arcade, PSN and PC this Summer. Developed by Sega Studios Australia, it will is based on the classic Genesis/Mega Drive side-scrolling platformer released in 1990. Sega have also released a new trailer for the game, showing off the remade graphics.

Chris Olson, vice president of Digital Business at Sega of America stated that, “The original Castle of Illusion was tremendously entertaining and has a well-deserved reputation as a SEGA classic. Castle of Illusion Featuring Mickey Mouse brings this great game to a new generation. Mickey is back and he looks fantastic.”

Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse sees the titular mouse fighting to save the beloved Minnie from the witch Mizrabel. Apparently the game will feature new gameplay mechanics to go with the revamped visuals.
