Castlevania Animated Series Receiving Second Season

It will be eight episodes instead of four.

It looks like Netflix’s animated Castlevania series, based on Konami’s franchise of the same name, has paid off. Though the first season premiered recently with only four episodes, the attention generated was enough for Netflix to commission a second season. And the good news is that it will be eight episodes this time around.

Produced by Frederator Studios, it’s unsure whether comic book writer Warren Ellis will be writing the second season as well. We know that producer Adi Shankar could return though he’s working on an animated Assassin’s Creed series as well. Ellis served as executive producer along with Shankar, Kevin Kolde and Fred Siebert.

Given the critical acclaimed surrounding the animated Castlevania, it seems a no-brainer on Netflix’s part to expand on that further. What are your thoughts on the Castlevania animated series? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more information on the second season in the coming months.
