Chasm

Bit Kid’s Chasm may be unfamiliar to those who haven’t kept track of its development in recent years. Heck, it’s unfamiliar to those who saw its GDC 2013 trailer before it headed to Kickstarter. But those who backed the game and have followed its progress are in for a treat because Chasm is now officially available for PS4 and PC.

Taking place in the Guildean Kingdom, Chasm is described as a 2D platforming action RPG with aspects of Metroidvania. Players must venture into a mysterious mine to investigate its circumstances and eventually battle numerous monsters and other supernatural phenomena. Along with exploring catacombs and coming across castles, there will be weapons and other powerful equipment.

Chasm is unique in that it connects several hand-designed rooms together, providing a unique experience for every player. It’s more procedural assembly than procedural generation, backed by some great pixel art, large boss fights, and a variety of areas. Check out the launch trailer for yourself below.
