In what’s surely good news for those of you who like your open worlds distinctly dystopian with a touch of melancholic beauty and generous helpings of deadly threats waiting to tear you to shreds, Cinder City is opening up its doors for a pre-alpha playtest from August 14 to 16.
Registrations are open to those interested and residing in the United States, with the promise of future playtests in other regions accompanying the announcement on Steam. You need to be 16 years or older to sign up here, and you will receive playtest access beginning on August 12 if you’re selected. Know that there’s an NDA in play, so you’ll have to keep your excitement under wraps until you’re clear to scream about how great it is to anyone willing to listen.
That could be easier said than done in a game that’s bringing a lot of cool stuff, including, but not limited to, real-life versions of Seoul and other Korean landmarks, all of which are overrun by a criminal organization called Hyde. You’re a Knight called Cinder, who’s using futuristic tech to help search for your missing daughter in an adventure that has you emptying a lot of magazines at terrifying enemies along the way.
There’s no release date on this one yet, but we know it’s being planned for later this year.
