Cities Skylines

Colossal Order had some fairly high expectations when it revealed plans to top SimCity with its own city building simulator, Cities: Skylines. The game has been a success, selling 250,000 units in its first 24 hours of release. Now, it seems to have crossed the 500,000 units mark within its first week.

Publisher Paradox Interactive noted on Twitter that it, “Looks like we broke the 500k barrier. HUGE thanks to every single Chirpy who has supported us so far!” It’s also important to note that Cities: Skylines is now the publisher’s fastest selling title by a wide margin.

Cities: Skylines has also garnered a fair amount of critical acclaim with various publications praising it for perfectly encapsulating what makes the city building sim genre so fun. Considering the size of Colossal Order as a development team, that’s more than just a fair achievement.
