Fans of 2019’s anime Souls-like Code Vein probably didn’t expect a sequel, but lo and behold, Code Vein 2 is coming in 2026. During the recent Bandai Namco Showcase, producer Keita Iizuka outlined what you can expect in terms of the narrative. Check it out below.

Code Vein 2 is a brand new story, taking place in a world where the blood-sucking Revenants coexist alongside humans (who went extinct in the previous game). Things are seemingly fine until “The Resurgence” appears, and Revenants are turned into Horrors by a phenomenon known as “Luna Rapacis.”

Players control a Revenant Hunter tasked with battling the monstrosities. After dying during a mission, a mysterious Revenant girl named Lou appears and saves them by sharing her heart. She can also time travel, and thus, the duo venture between the present and 100 years in the past to prevent the end of the world.

Further details are yet to come but Iizuka promises a “dramatic story that unfolds across time” and encounters with “various Revenants in the past and the present.”

Code Vein 2 launches for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC next year. Stay tuned for more gameplay and a release date.
