Remember Cosmic Star Heroine, the old-school RPG from Zeboyd Games of Cthulhu Saves The World fame? It seems that the release date is closer than we think. This is according to Limited Run Games co-founder Josh Fairhurst who attended GDC 2017 and spotted what seemed to be a release date – April 11th – for the RPG.

He noted that, “I didn’t realize Cosmic Star Heroine was coming so soon! I need to keep better track of these things.” Thus far the developer hasn’t officially announced as much though so take this with a grain of salt.

Cosmic Star Heroine promises to combine all the things that defined old-school RPGs including a 16-bit art-style, a soundtrack from HyperDuck Soundworks (of Dust: An Elysian Tail fame), seamless battles, animated cutscenes and turn-based combat among other things.

What are your thoughts on the April release date? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks.
