Crysis 3’s multiplayer developers were answering questions on “MyCrysis” forums, and from that we have a bunch of new information on the game. The game’s multiplayer is being developed by Free Radical, who did the work on the previous game’s multiplayer mode as well.
Well the important question was whether C3MP could be moddable, to which Richard Semmens, lead programmer of the multiplayer component said, “There is no official announcement about mod support at this time.”
The game should be moddable considering Crysis 2 was modded by people and it truly turned out to be something spectacular.
The predator bow which is one of the biggest USPs of the game was the most difficult weapon to balance because it had to feel like a bow and stand up to other powerful weapons as well. The guns will deal damage based on range and this applies even to rifles.
They will be patching the PC version regularly compared to the console versions because of certification issues. The Power Struggle mode will not be available in the game’s multiplayer and this is surprising considering Crysis 2’s multiplayer had it, but they do have an unannounced mode in the works which they will reveal later.
You can check out more details on the game here. They talked a lot about Crysis 3 multiplayer.
Meanwhile, it seems the beta was a massive success with over 3 million people downloading the game. That really is something which shows how much interest people have in the game. The pre-orders are also 40% higher than Crysis 2, so Cevat Yerli and his team, along with EA, should be pleased.
