For a few days now, the Crysis Twitter has been teasing something. After reactivating after years of being inactive, it seems they were pointing to some type of revival for the shooter. Well, the official website may have inadvertently spilled the beans on what that project is: a remaster of the first game.
It was discovered that you could go to Crysis‘ cookie policy page which revealed that the game will see a remastered version for modern systems. You could click on the logo for Crysis Remastered and go to a splash page that you can see below. You can check the link here, but it seems it could be removed at the time of writing this. But the internet never forgets, and you can see below thanks to Twitter user lashman who captured the original cookie policy page that took you to the splash page.
It’s been quite some time since we’ve seen the franchise, and it still holds up pretty well today. We also know that Crytek is working on something else big, so this could be a precursor to a sequel, but for now, we’ll have to wait for the official announcement on this remaster.
"Crysis Remastered brings new graphic features, high-quality textures, and the CRYENGINE's native hardware- and API-agnostic ray tracing solution for PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and – for the very first time – Nintendo Switch."
