Studio MDHR’s Cuphead faced its fair share of Dark Souls comparisons at launch, especially because of its difficulty. However, 64 Bits on YouTube decided to see what Dark Souls would look like with Cuphead’s aesthetic and animation style. The result is pretty awesome. Check it out below.

Cupsouls features the Dark Souls’ environments, bosses and other characters in the classic Fleischer Studios style of animation. Bosses like Ornstein and Smough stand out as does the fan favourite character Solaire of Astora. There’s even the hilarious “You Died” screen at the end complete with a countdown timer.

As for Cuphead, it’s been a huge success for Studio MDHR, selling over 1 million units in just two weeks on Xbox One and Steam. The developer has promised that Cuphead will return at some point though when that will be – and in what form – remains to be seen. In the meantime, check out our official review of the game here.
