CD Projekt Red’s Piotr Nielubowicz and Adam Kiciński were recently in attendance at the Pareto Securities Gaming Seminar 2018 event, where they spoke about a number of things, such as GWENT, GOG.com, and more importantly, about Cyberpunk 2077, their highly anticipated upcoming RPG. The two of them gave a few interesting bits and pieces on the game.

For starters, the studio’s sole focus is now on Cyberpunk 2077, with over 300 of their employees working on the game, and the studio seems to be quite excited about the prospect of making the game, since they won’t be bound by a predefined world, lore, and characters like they were with the Witcher games. Their aim, they said, is to make a very ambitious game that can kick off a “blockbuster” franchise for them.

Interestingly enough, they said that Cyberpunk 2077 would be a full-fledged RPG with “open ended gameplay”, one that veterans of the genre would be able to enjoy fully, rather than just being a game with light role playing elements. The game, according to CDPR, is being “handcrafted”, which seems to indicate that there’s going to be a great deal of attention to minute details, but given their excellent work with The Witcher 3, that’s not really surprising to hear.

There was no word on a specific release date for the game, with the developers saying that the game will be out “when it’s ready”. Further, they also said that they won’t launch a marketing campaign to advertise an actual campaign for the game itself, and that instead, they will just kick off the promotional campaign for the game one day as a surprise- no word on when that might be, though.

You can watch it all below to get some extra details we might have missed. The CDPR talk begins at the 3:34:05 mark. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for continued coverage on the game.
