Cyberpunk 2077 - Update 2_02

When it launched nearly three years ago, Cyberpunk 2077 fell woefully short of expectations, but CD Projekt RED is looking to bring the action RPG up to scratch with a significant new update. Alongside the launch of Phantom Liberty, the game is also getting the free Update 2.0, which will overhaul several gameplay systems and mechanics in the base game, and as promised last week, its release date has now been announced.

During a recent Night City Wire stream, CD Projekt RED confirmed that Update 2.0 will go live for Cyberpunk 2077 players on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on September 21, exactly a week from now.

If you need a recap on what exactly the update will do, it’s going to be quite a significant one, bringing overhauls for skill trees and perks, cyberware and cyberware capacity, loot and crafting, police chases and the wanted system, vehicular combat, combat AI, and more.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, meanwhile, is due out for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on September 26. Check out its newest cinematic trailer through here.
