Hub Item Locations:

The guide below is compiled by a Redditor. Check out the entire guide  below to get a head start in Dark Souls 2.

Human Effigy – Located in a chest on the second level of the Firekeepers house. You can pick this up immediately after finishing character creation.

Morning Star + Clerics Sacred Chime + Binoculars – Immediately after leaving the tutorial zone through the giant crack, you will see the Majula Lighthouse. Before proceeding any further, hug the right side of the path and look over the ledge towards the town. You will see two lootable bodies that you can access via a short gap between the rocks.

Estus Shard – Found by attacking the water well located near the Majula Pit, just outside the “Mansion” building. A weight stone falls, and the bucket rises, carrying the shard with it.

Parma Shield – Found in Majula, keep the water to your right. You’ll find a narrow corridor that leads to a sewer system. Half-way down the stairs, you will see a chest on your left that contains a Parma (small) shield. Everything above this line is available immediately (or just prior) to entering Majula. Everything below this line will be accessible shortly after Majula.

Ring of Steel Protection – After many deaths (coincidentally I got mine at 100), Blue Crestbro in Majula will give it to you.

Chloranthy Ring + Titanite Slab – Found in the crossbow (aka ballista) room in the Forest of Fallen Giants. Requires Pharros Stone!

White Sign Soapstone – Provided to you by Pate, after he closes the gate behind you when you first meet. Return to Pate by killing the enemies or by respawning at the bonfire and speak with him. He will then provide you with the soapstone.

Estus Shard – Found by going downstairs in the Mansion. Kill one skeleton (chance of Human Effigy drop), then follow the cave to the right. You will see a lootable body hunched over.

Soul Vessel – Found in the basement of the Mansion, in a chest along the left side of the cave.

Halberd – Found on the tip of a giant (bur narrow) stone sword protruding off a platform just prior to a fog gate that leads to the first Crystal Lizard in the Forest of Fallen Giants zone. There is an enemy waiting for you at the end of the narrow walkway, and once you approach another enemy jumps down behind you. Be careful.
