From Software’s Dark Souls 3 has been acclaimed both critically and commercially but it’s had issues. One of those included problems with cheaters in multiplayer.

Another is the issue of the stat Poise. What is Poise? What does it do? No one really knew but the developer noted that it was working just fine.

Now, series director Hidetaka Miyazaki expressed remorse over the the developer’s handling of the same. Speaking to Kotaku, which Miyazaki didn’t explain exactly how it works, he noted the handling of the issue could have been better.

“This isn’t something we are particularly proud of. With how things are handled now, it can be improved and this is an agenda item we’ll be working on in the future.”

Which is all well and good but it still doesn’t explain what Poise does. The mystery continues we suppose. But hey, at least we know the Dark Sword isn’t as good as it used to be.
