Bandai Namco have revealed that From Software’s Dark Souls 3, which only just released in the west yesterday (though it has been available in Japan since last month) will be getting its very first bit of DLC later this year, sooner than anybody expected- according to Namco, the DLC is projected to launch by Fall.

What the DLC will entail, Namco didn’t get into; however, considering the history of excellent post launch support for previous games in the series (Dark Souls and Dark Souls 2 had exemplary downloadable content, and while technically not a Souls game, last year’s Bloodborne had an excellent expansion in The Old Hunters too), the quality of the DLC isn’t something we should be worried about- it will probably be a major, full fledged expansion to the game, in terms of mechanics, areas, and lore.

Dark Souls 3 is available now on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. You can check out our review for the game here.
