Dark Souls 3

Dark Souls 3 director Hidetaka Miyazaki revealed in an interview with GameSpot that the third game will be a “turning point” for the franchise. This comes off the news that he has other new projects in mind which could see the Souls extend to other genres.

Miyazaki stated that, “Dark Souls is my life’s work. Everything I came up with for Dark Souls 3 is based on my personal preferences.”

He then added later that, “However, Dark Souls 3 is also actually the turning point for the franchise.”

This is good news for the fans of the series, especially since many felt that Dark Souls 2 (which wasn’t directed by Miyazaki) didn’t quite have that seem feel as the original. Then there was Bloodborne, which was fairly distinct from the Souls universe in many ways.

Dark Souls 3 is set to release in 2016 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. What are your thoughts on it? Let us know in the comments.
