From Software’s Dark Souls 3 is now live for PC but as we indicated in our official review, it’s not quite the perfect port. PC users have reported crashes in the beginning portions of the game.

In fact, if you head over to this Steam thread, you’ll see over 100 pages of complaints from players who either have their game crash at the first bonfire, during character creation and so on. It’s not yet known what the issue is but two workarounds have emerged. If you select a Knight and set your lighting settings to “Low”, then you should be fine.

The issues have been brought to the attention of publisher Bandai Namco on Twitter, which advised players to contact its support team.

These aren’t the only issues that Dark Souls 3 has been seeing on PC. In fact, we encountered performance issues on the Road of Sacrifices and Farron’s Keep even on high-end hardware. What are your thoughts on the performance? Let us know in the comments.
